Position Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Software Engineer and play a pivotal role within our design team, where we are focused on shaping the future of superconducting transmon quantum processors. Our commitment to maintaining a scalable and efficient code architecture means that our entire design process is code-driven. We've parameterized every facet of our qubits, enabling precision tuning through advanced automation.

As a Software Engineer at QuantWare, your primary responsibility is to take ownership of the codebase, further enhance the automation, and optimise the architecture and scalability. This role uniquely combines software engineering and DevOps practices to enable our quantum engineer to efficiently and reliably make and simulate next gen QPU's using code.

Key Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer in our design team, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Design Code Modularity: Write and enhance code to automate the design and simulation of quantum chips, ensuring that every aspect of the qubits is fully modular and can be implemented in future processors.

• Software Design Leadership: Utilise your computer science background to provide leadership in software design, ensuring that our codebase is efficient, scalable, and maintainable.

• Component Development: Together with the quantum physics engineers of the design team, implement new types of chip components into a codebase designed for automated production with the goal to advance quantum computing.

• Quality assurance and collaboration: Work on ensuring the quality and reliability of code submitted by other team members. Collaborate with your peers to review and improve code, promote best practices and set up a rigid testing system.

• Experience working on a large software project with a team;

• A degree in Informatica, Computer science or similar field;

• You're a great communicator and know how to be a great teamplayer.

Would be nice if you have experience in;

• Leading an effort to implement features into a large codebase;

• Superconducting quantum circuits / cQED experience or affiliation;

• With electromagnetic finite elements analysis (like Ansys Electronics HFSS).
