QuantWare is seeking a Experimental Software Engineer with a proven ability to lead projects. In this role, you will take ownership of developing and maintaining software for the measurement and characterization of quantum devices, ensuring the scalability of our systems as we advance our product offerings. In the future there might be the opportunity to build your own team. You'll lead efforts in code architecture and CI/CD practices, working closely with cross-functional teams to align software development with broader company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Software Development: Design, develop, and optimize software for precise measurement and characterization of quantum devices, leveraging frameworks such as Quantify, QCoDeS, QUA, and Q1ASM.

  • Oversee Code Architecture & CI/CD: Take responsibility for the overall code architecture and implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices to ensure smooth integration with existing software ecosystems, both internally and externally.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with teams of physicists and engineers, ensuring that software tools are scalable, compatible, and contribute to the company's broader objectives.

  • Engage with Quantum Computing Advances: Stay informed about the latest developments in quantum computing, with opportunities to dive deep into relevant theories such as superconducting circuits and quantum error correction.

Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

  • Experience: Demonstrated expertise in software development, with a strong focus on Python. At least 2 years of hands-on experience is required, along with proficiency in scientific libraries such as SciPy, NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib. Experience with CI/CD and code architecture is essential.

  • Knowledge: Familiarity with superconducting circuits and quantum computing principles is advantageous but not required.

  • Skills: Strong proficiency in data management, processing, and software version control, with the ability to lead and manage software projects.
